As Southern California Gas Company (SoCalGas) HR director, Chris Bissonnette has extensive experience in employment and labor law. He handles diverse aspects of HR operations, including compensation, talent acquisition, workforce management, and workplace ethics investigations. Chris Bissonnette ensures that the overall workforce plan meets strict budget parameters and actively collaborates with organizational effectiveness teams in key talent retention, employee engagement, and succession planning.
Completing his BA in history and dance at Hofstra University, Mr. Bissonnette participated in the American Dance Festival at Duke University. He pursued his JD at the Northeastern University School of Law and completed the Director Development Program at the University of Southern California. A US Armed Services veteran, Mr. Bissonnette has experience in the Army Reserves and New York Army National Guard. He began his legal career as a Jackson Lewis associate and continued as Paul Hastings, LLP, senior counsel in Los Angeles. His breadth of experience ranges from large class action litigation to traditional labor law.
Mr. Bissonnette has served on the boards of Out and Equal and the Foundation of Women Warriors. A recognized voice in his field, he spoke at the 2nd annual Energy & Sustainability Summit at CalState Fullerton in 2023 on America’s clean energy transition and workforce development.
